It was a devastating news for the family Moradeun Balogun, a 28-year-old lady who was stabbed on Monday by armed robbers and allegedly denied treatment by a Lagos hospital. She died on Thursday.
Moradeun was stabbed in the neck by the robbers at Gbagada area of Lagos while returning from work.
There were stories that the victim was rushed to R-Jolad Hospital, where she was allegedly not attended to because a police report was not presented by the good Samaritans, who came to her rescue.
The hospital refuted the claim that the victim was not attended to because of the non-presentation of a police report, adding that she was assessed by two doctors before she was referred to the Gbagada General Hospital for vascular surgery.
A friend of the deceased claimed that she spoke him on Monday around 6.30pm when she was getting ready to leave the office and the next thing was that he got a call around past 7pm from someone, who told him that she was robbed and stabbed, and that I needed to make my way to the hospital.
While some sympathizers blamed the government for not putting enough security in place for its citizens’ safety, others believe that Nigeria still has a lot to put in place when emergency situation that involve lives arise.
Some of those who tried to salvage the situation say doctors tried their best possible but she had lost a lot of blood which led to her death.
